Single Officer Handles Everything From Burial to Inheritance
The Jabr system assigns one Government Service Officer to each family. This dedicated officer manages burial arrangements, death certificates, and even overseas repatriation. Families receive updates without visiting multiple offices.
When someone dies in any Dubai hospital, the digital platform automatically alerts all relevant government departments. Death certificates are generated instantly and circulate to the necessary entities without families requesting them repeatedly.
Dr Alawi AlSheikh-Ali, Director-General of Dubai Health Authority, explains the human focus: “Bereaved families receive the care, attention, and practical support they genuinely need. We place people at the forefront of our priorities.”
Burial Times Cut Dramatically
Previously, families spent days completing paperwork while organizing funerals. The new system reduces burial processing time significantly. Repatriation procedures for overseas transport also move faster.
Over 130 trained volunteers now handle washing and shrouding procedures through the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department. Dubai Municipality upgraded cemetery facilities across the emirate.
For Emirati families, the Community Development Authority provides additional condolence tents with full hospitality services for the traditional three-day mourning period. More than 70 locations across Dubai stand ready for rapid tent installation.
Students Get Grief Counselling at Schools
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority trained 230 school counsellors to support students experiencing family loss. These counsellors work directly with the Dubai Academic Health Corporation to provide immediate assistance.
Religious support comes through qualified counsellors from the Islamic Affairs department. Families can opt for religious lectures and guidance during their difficult times.
Majid Al Muhairi, the Jabr system spokesperson, emphasizes the expanded scope: “The service extends beyond administrative procedures to offer psychological and social support before, during, and after the condolence period.”
Courts Open Estate Files Automatically
Dubai Courts now open estate files proactively when death certificates are issued. Families no longer need in-person visits to start inheritance procedures. Authorities inventory assets automatically so heirs can complete documentation smoothly.
A unified payment system reduces transaction points for any required fees. The smart dashboard helps participating entities make faster decisions about support services.
