The UAE has taken a major step forward in autonomous aviation security with the launch of Perceptra and Saluki, two flight technologies developed by VentureOne in collaboration with ADASI and the Technology Innovation Institute (TII).

These next-generation solutions were showcased at IDEX 2025, the Middle East’s largest defense exhibition. They promise secure, GPS-independent navigation and AI-powered flight control, offering unmatched resilience for UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) in high-risk environments.

Addressing the Global GPS Security Challenge

GPS technology plays a crucial role in navigation, defense, and aviation, but its vulnerabilities to jamming and spoofing pose serious risks.

  • GPS Jamming: High-frequency signals disrupt GPS receivers, preventing accurate location tracking.
  • GPS Spoofing: Fake signals deceive GPS receivers, causing false positioning data.

These threats have raised alarms across defense agencies, aviation regulators (IATA, EASA), and drone industries, pushing for GPS-independent navigation systems. Perceptra and Saluki directly address these challenges.

Perceptra: AI-Powered GPS-Free Navigation

Perceptra is an advanced vision-based system that ensures reliable aerial navigation without GPS. Its key features include:

  • GNSS-Denied Navigation: Operates without reliance on GPS.
  • Visual Relocking Technology: Maintains location accuracy.
  • Low Navigation Errors: Enhances precision for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
  • Seamless Integration: Easily adapts to multiple UAV platforms.

“Perceptra, with its GPS-less capabilities, and Saluki, with its sophisticated Zero Trust architecture, represent a significant leap in autonomous navigation with the potential to transform multiple sectors.”
– Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of TII

Saluki: Secure, AI-Driven Flight Control

Saluki is a high-performance flight controller built for mission-critical defense operations. It features:

  • Zero Trust Architecture: Ensures secure and tamper-proof operations.
  • PX4 Compatibility: Supports industry-standard UAV software.
  • AI-Powered Multi-Vehicle Management: Enables coordinated drone operations.
  • 300 TOPS Compute Power: Optimized for real-time decision-making.

“Perceptra and Saluki provide exactly what next-generation UAVs require: secure, GPS-independent navigation and AI-powered mission control.”
– Juma Al Kaabi, CEO of ADASI

Strategic Impact and Future Developments

VentureOne and TII’s collaboration extends beyond military applications. Last week, TII announced a partnership with the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) to:

  • Develop advanced air corridor designs: Optimizing UAV flight routes.
  • Enhance urban airspace safety: Supporting autonomous drone taxis and delivery systems.

“We are working on a more comprehensive air autonomy and security portfolio that will play a central role in future drone operations.”
– Reda Nidhakou, Acting CEO of VentureOne

These efforts position the UAE as a global leader in AI-driven aviation security and UAV autonomy.

What’s Ahead

With the launch of Perceptra and Saluki, the UAE is setting new standards for aviation security by introducing GPS-free navigation and next-gen flight control. These innovations ensure safer, more resilient, and autonomous UAV operations, strengthening both civilian and defense applications.

As AI-powered flight technologies continue to evolve, the UAE remains at the forefront of autonomous aerial innovation.
