PureHealth Launches AI-Powered National Diagnostic Laboratory in the UAE

PureHealth has launched the UAE’s most advanced AI-powered standalone diagnostic laboratory, marking a major expansion of the country’s healthcare infrastructure. Operated under its diagnostics arm, PureLab, the facility is designed to serve as a central hub supporting hospitals, clinics and laboratories across the nation.

Positioned as a national-scale asset, the laboratory strengthens local diagnostic capacity and reduces reliance on overseas testing for complex and specialised cases.

Scale and Capability at the Core

The facility spans approximately 70,000 square feet across seven storeys and is built to operate around the clock. At full capacity, it is capable of processing more than 30 million samples annually, making it one of the largest diagnostic operations in the region.

It offers over 1,800 test parameters across disciplines, including anatomic pathology, molecular genetics, hematopathology, infectious disease diagnostics and environmental testing. The laboratory also supports newborn screening and specialised disease detection services.

How Artificial Intelligence Is Applied

Artificial intelligence is embedded directly into diagnostic workflows rather than positioned as a standalone feature. AI systems support sample analysis, quality assurance and digital pathology, helping laboratory specialists manage high volumes of complex tests with improved consistency and speed.

The facility includes an AI-powered digital pathology platform that enables rapid analysis of high-resolution images and supports remote clinical consultation. Automation and robotics further enhance efficiency, while final clinical interpretation remains under the supervision of trained specialists.

Supporting a Nationwide Laboratory Network

The new laboratory is connected to a national network of more than 140 accredited laboratories, allowing advanced tests to be centralised while routine diagnostics remain distributed. This structure improves turnaround times, standardisation and quality control across the healthcare system.

By consolidating high-complexity diagnostics within the UAE, PureHealth aims to strengthen data control, operational resilience and national health preparedness.

Efficiency, Sustainability and Long-Term Planning

Beyond diagnostics, the facility incorporates energy-efficient infrastructure, paperless reporting systems and optimised logistics to support sustainable operations. The building has also been designed with future expansion in mind, allowing capacity to scale alongside population growth and healthcare demand.

A Strategic Step for UAE Healthcare

The introduction of the AI-powered diagnostic laboratory marks a move toward sophisticated, large-scale healthcare infrastructure in the UAE. Instead of concentrating solely on front-end digital tools, the facility integrates advanced technology at the core of medical diagnostic operations.

For PureHealth, the facility reinforces its role as a central player in national healthcare delivery. For the UAE, it represents a move towards faster, more accurate and locally controlled diagnostic services that can support both routine care and future public health needs.
