Abu Dhabi Police Teams Up With Presight: AI Now Fights Crime Before It Happens

Abu Dhabi is taking a fresh approach to public safety, and it starts with tech. The city’s police force has partnered with AI company Presight to spot potential threats early and prevent crime before it happens. It’s a big step toward smarter, faster, and more proactive law enforcement.

Next-Level Policing Comes to UAE Streets

The strategic cooperation agreement, signed recently, puts AI tools directly into the hands of police officers. Abu Dhabi Police will now use Presight’s AI-Policing Suite, a system built to make cities safer through advanced technology.

“Our partnership with Presight helps us benefit from world-leading artificial intelligence technologies that will enhance our policing capabilities and take them to new heights,” said Major General/Engineer Nasir Sultan Al-Yabhouni, Director of the Leadership Affairs Sector at Abu Dhabi Police.

The AI system will help officers respond faster, make smarter decisions, and make Abu Dhabi safer overall.

From Reactive to Proactive: How AI Changes Everything

Traditional policing waits for crimes to happen before responding. Presight’s AI system turns that model upside down by spotting patterns and threats before they develop into actual crimes.

The AI-Policing Suite includes several key modules:

  1. Law Enforcement Platform – A central system that pulls data from many sources to identify suspects and predict crime hotspots
  2. Detective Assistant – An AI helper that suggests leads, connects evidence, and spots patterns human investigators might miss
  3. Digital Forensic Platform – Tools that quickly analyze digital evidence like photos, videos, and documents
  4. Traffic Control – Smart systems that spot traffic violations and manage congestion in real-time
  5. IoT Intelligence – Sensors that monitor air quality, detect intrusions, and even recognize gunshots or glass breaking
  6. Integrated Command Center – The brain of the system that brings all information together for faster response

These tools address specific problems that have long troubled police forces worldwide:

  • The struggle to keep up with rising urban crime
  • Mountains of digital evidence that take too long to process
  • Traffic safety issues that cause preventable accidents
  • Disconnected systems that hide important connections
  • Public demands for more transparent, accountable policing

Why This Partnership?

Mohammed AlMheiri, Chief Business Officer at Presight, called the agreement “a pivotal moment in the evolution of AI-driven public safety.”

The partnership promises to do more than just catch criminals. It seeks to fundamentally change how police work happens, shifting from reaction to prevention.

For Abu Dhabi residents, this means potentially fewer crimes, faster emergency responses, and safer streets. For the city’s leadership, it supports their vision of becoming a global leader in smart city technology.

Presight: The AI Company Behind the Technology

Presight isn’t new to big projects. The Abu Dhabi-based company, majority-owned by G42, has been expanding rapidly across the Middle East and beyond.

In Q1 2025, Presight reported impressive growth:

  • Revenue of AED 563.9 million (115.1% increase year-on-year)
  • International revenue up five-fold to AED 127.0 million
  • EBITDA grew 71.9% year-on-year to AED 141.0 million

The company has secured AED 1.44 billion in new orders during that quarter alone, showing strong market demand for its AI solutions.

Beyond policing, Presight has launched other major products like Presight Synergy (an enterprise AI platform) and Presight LifeSaver (an emergency response system). They’ve also started the Presight AI-Startup Accelerator to nurture new AI companies.

The Future of Smart Policing

Abu Dhabi Police isn’t the first to adopt AI, but this partnership represents one of the most comprehensive AI implementations in law enforcement globally.

The success of this project could set a template for police forces around the world. If AI can truly prevent crimes before they happen while respecting privacy and civil liberties, it could change the fundamental nature of policing.

As cities grow more complex and crime evolves, tools like Presight’s AI-Policing Suite may become essential rather than optional. Abu Dhabi’s early adoption puts the emirate at the forefront of this transformation.

For residents and visitors to Abu Dhabi, the most important outcome will be a safer city where police can focus more on prevention and less on reaction.
