InfiniLink Secures $10M to Advance Optical Connectivity for AI-Driven Data Centers

InfiniLink, a semiconductor startup focused on optical data connectivity for AI-powered data centers, has raised $10 million in seed funding.

The round was led by MediaTek, a global semiconductor giant, with participation from Riyadh-based Sukna Ventures, Egypt Ventures, and M Empire Angels.

Scaling AI Data Center Connectivity with Silicon Photonics

Founded in 2022, InfiniLink is pushing the boundaries of Silicon Photonics by developing integrated optical transceiver chiplets (iOTC). These semiconductor solutions aim to solve two major challenges in AI infrastructure: bandwidth limitations and energy efficiency.

As AI workloads surge, traditional data center connections are struggling to keep up. InfiniLink’s iOTC technology offers low-power pluggable transceiver modules and co-packaged optical engines (CPO), enabling faster, high-density data transfers.

Partnering with MediaTek will help us bring next-gen optical connectivity solutions to life

said Ahmed Aboul-Ella, Co-founder and CEO of InfiniLink. This collaboration speeds up our mission to support the future of AI data centers.

Investor Confidence in Egypt’s Deep-Tech Scene

The funding highlights growing trust in Egypt’s deep-tech sector, particularly in semiconductors and AI innovation.

At Sukna Ventures, we’re excited to support InfiniLink’s groundbreaking work. Their technology tackles the massive energy demands of AI, fitting perfectly with our goal to back high-impact startups in the MENA region.”

said Waleed Alballaa, General Partner at Sukna Ventures.

George Chien, Senior General Manager at MediaTek, also emphasized InfiniLink’s role in strengthening Egypt’s semiconductor industry:

Our partnership with InfiniLink has been incredibly successful, leading to the creation of MediaTek Egypt. This investment marks the next step in our collaboration.”

What’s Next for InfiniLink?

With fresh funding, InfiniLink plans to:

  • Speed up research in Silicon Photonics and optical connectivity
  • Grow global partnerships for AI data center solutions
  • Scale up manufacturing to meet rising demand

The company is poised to shape the future of AI infrastructure, enabling faster and more efficient data processing worldwide.
