Hub71 and Google partners for startup growth

Abu Dhabi’s tech ecosystem is getting a major boost as Hub71 announces its new strategic partnership with Google. This collaboration introduces Google’s startup program, Google for Startups, to Abu Dhabi, creating exciting opportunities for local startups to grow and thrive.

Strengthening Abu Dhabi’s Role as a Global Tech Hub

Hub71, which is Abu Dhabi’s global tech hub, is now positioned to play a key role in accelerating innovation in the region. The partnership aims to provide Hub71 startups with the resources they need to continue their growth journey from Abu Dhabi.

Google’s Accelerator Program and Mentorship

In a signing ceremony attended by representatives from the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, Mubadala Investment Company, Google, and Hub71, it was revealed that Google will launch a dedicated accelerator program in 2025.

This program will select 25 high-potential startups from Hub71 for a three-month mentorship and training program focused on growth strategies and improving business models.

Google Cloud Credits for Hub71 Startups

All startups within the Hub71 community will have access to Google Cloud credits, with the best-performing startups receiving up to US$300,000. This is the highest tier available globally. Google will also provide tailored playbooks to help early-stage startups navigate challenges and grow their businesses.

Access to Global Mentors and Investment Opportunities

Another major benefit for Hub71 startups is the chance to connect with Google’s global network of mentors and industry leaders. This network will offer invaluable guidance, helping startups gain insights into the latest technologies and trends. Additionally, Google will introduce Hub71 startups to potential investment opportunities through its parent company, Alphabet.

Key Quotes from the Collaboration

Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of Hub71, emphasized that this partnership helps strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a global tech leader. He said,

“Hub71’s partnership with Google reinforces Abu Dhabi’s commitment to becoming a global technology leader. By leveraging the expertise of distinguished international tech giants, we are not only accelerating our economic transformation but also empowering entrepreneurs and startups with the tools and global opportunities needed to thrive in a competitive digital economy.”

Anthony Nakache, Managing Director for Google in the MENA region, added that Google’s partnership with Hub71 reflects its commitment to empowering UAE startups. He commented,

“This partnership with Hub71 to bring the ‘Google for Startups’ accelerator programme to Abu Dhabi reflects Google’s commitment to empowering the UAE’s startups with growth, resources, and access to a global network of Google experts.”

Ahmed Ali Alwan, CEO of Hub71, stated,

“Our partnership to bring the flagship ‘Google for Startups’ programme to Abu Dhabi marks an exciting chapter for Hub71, reflecting our commitment to ensure Abu Dhabi remains at the forefront of technology and entrepreneurship.”

Knowledge Exchange on Emerging Technologies

As part of the partnership, Google will host meetings with Hub71 on topics such as Web3, sustainability, and AI. These meetings will provide a platform for knowledge sharing and innovation, supporting the creation of sustainable growth practices for startups.

Looking forward

The partnership between Hub71 and Google is set to offer significant resources and opportunities for startups in Abu Dhabi, making it an exciting time for entrepreneurs in the UAE.
