Under the patronage of the UAE President, Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025 (ADSW 2025) to take place in the emirate

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2025, scheduled from January 12 to 18, will spotlight how artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced technologies are transforming the path to sustainable development. The week-long event will combine innovation, renewable energy, and human expertise to tackle global challenges.

Empowering Change Through Youth and Women in Sustainability

This year, ADSW will amplify its commitment to inclusivity and empowerment:

  • The Youth 4 Sustainability (Y4S) Forum and Hub will engage 3,500 young leaders through a three-day program. Designed to inspire and educate, the forum will equip youth to innovate and lead climate action.
  • The Women in Sustainability, Environment, and Renewable Energy (WiSER) Forum, taking place on January 15, will ensure women’s voices remain central to sustainability discussions.

Zayed Sustainability Prize: Recognizing Global Changemakers

The Zayed Sustainability Prize, the UAE’s flagship award for sustainable innovation, will play a key role during ADSW 2025. With categories spanning Health, Food, Energy, Water, Climate Action, and Global High Schools, the prize continues to celebrate transformative solutions driving positive global impact.

Over the last 16 years, the prize has recognized 117 winners, who have collectively improved the lives of more than 384 million people. These projects have expanded access to reliable energy, safe drinking water, nutritious food, and quality healthcare, while fostering sustainable economic growth. This year’s Zayed Sustainability Prize Awards Ceremony will be held on January 14, alongside key discussions at the Forum & Investor Connect.

Pivotal Dates to Remember

Here’s a breakdown of the week’s most notable events:

  • January 12-13: IRENA Assembly and the Global Climate Finance Annual Meeting.
  • January 14: ADSW Opening Ceremony, Zayed Sustainability Prize Awards Ceremony, and the start of the ADSW Summit (Jan 14-15).
  • January 14-16: The World Future Energy Summit and the Youth 4 Sustainability (Y4S) Forum.
  • January 15: The WiSER Forum spotlighting women’s contributions to sustainability.
  • January 16: The Green Hydrogen Summit, Zayed Sustainability Prize Forum, and Investor Connect.
  • January 17-18: The Festival at Masdar City, which will celebrate sustainable innovation with interactive experiences.

Harnessing Technology to Build a Sustainable Tomorrow

ADSW 2025 will showcase how the synergy of AI, renewable energy, and human ingenuity can drive global progress. By focusing on actionable solutions, the event aims to inspire governments, businesses, and individuals to embrace innovation and work together for a sustainable future.

As Abu Dhabi cements its position as a leader in sustainability, ADSW 2025 promises to be a defining moment in shaping the future of climate action, energy, and sustainable development.
