The Agreement

The initiative focuses on building a framework for responsible AI. The platform will integrate large language models adapted to Morocco’s specific context. This includes national languages, cultural identity, legal frameworks, and digital sovereignty.

Goals

The project aims to provide:

  • AI tools for citizens, businesses, and public administrations.
  • Secure, high-performance systems that protect privacy.
  • Generative and conversational AI applications aligned with fundamental rights.

Why It Matters

This step highlights Morocco’s strategy to strengthen digital sovereignty. By developing AI solutions rooted in local values, Morocco reduces reliance on external platforms. It also positions the country as a leader in responsible and ethical AI within Africa and beyond.

Next Steps

The success of this initiative will depend on how the framework is implemented. Key priorities include governance, technical development, and collaboration across public and private sectors.

Conclusion

Morocco’s decision to build a responsible AI platform with CNDP shows a clear commitment to ethical innovation. By focusing on sovereignty, privacy, and cultural relevance, the country is setting the foundation for a trusted AI ecosystem.
