DXC builds a new regional hub for SAP delivery
DXC Technology has opened a new SAP Centre of Excellence in Egypt to support digital-transformation projects across the Middle East and Africa. The centre will act as a regional delivery base for SAP consulting, implementation and managed services. DXC says it has onboarded 250 SAP professionals as part of the launch, adding to Egypt’s growing importance as a delivery location for enterprise-technology work.
The announcement forms part of a wider expansion that includes a new SAP Academy in Saudi Arabia. The Academy will train and certify local talent in enterprise-technology skills, with a focus on building a stronger workforce to support national digital-transformation goals.
Why the launch strengthens MEA’s enterprise-tech landscape
SAP is central to how global organisations manage core business functions in one integrated system. Banks, telecom operators, public-sector agencies and large enterprises rely on it to run finance, HR, supply chain processes and service delivery. Many organisations across the region have struggled with outdated systems and limited access to specialised SAP expertise, slowing down modernisation efforts.
DXC’s new centre is meant to address that gap. By establishing a regional hub with modern engineering practices, AI-driven support tools and locally trained talent, the company can deliver faster and more predictable SAP upgrades. This also aligns with national strategies in markets like Saudi Arabia and Egypt, where governments want stronger digital infrastructure and less reliance on overseas consultants.
The broader shift is worth noting. MEA is increasingly being positioned as a delivery base for enterprise-software work rather than only a consumption market. Egypt’s engineering workforce and Saudi Arabia’s investment in digital skills make the region attractive for global IT providers looking to expand their delivery footprint.
Who stands to benefit
Large enterprises using SAP to run operational systems are the primary beneficiaries. They gain closer access to implementation support, managed-service delivery and modern upgrade pathways. Public-sector institutions across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and Qatar are also likely early adopters as they continue to overhaul national digital infrastructure.
Local IT professionals have an opportunity to tap into new career paths through the SAP Academy in Saudi Arabia and the growing project pipeline in the region. The initiatives reduce the need for imported expertise and help build a sustainable skills base within the region.
What comes next
DXC is expected to scale the workforce at the Egypt Centre of Excellence and outline regional client engagements as the hub becomes fully operational. The company also plans to expand the SAP Academy in Saudi Arabia, with the goal of training hundreds of professionals each year.
Early indicators of progress will include the pace of SAP-modernisation projects, the delivery outcomes for enterprise clients and the extent to which transformation work is executed locally rather than through international teams.
